Hey - I’m Eve Wright!
I am a writer, director, producer, and comedian from and based in Chicago.
I tell stories that meet at the intersection of psychological thriller, absurdism, and magical realism.
I love anything that goes bump in the night, especially when it forces us to reconcile our deepest fear with the most human pieces of ourselves.
I produce film projects through my production company, Original Sin Productions.

My Creative Vision
Complex interiority
I am passionate about bringing to life universally resonant life stories that center Black women and marginalized communities in all of our beautiful, muddy, vulnerable, proud, vulgar, delightful, and insecure complexities.
The stories we read on the page and see on screen open up new possibilities for the ways we conceive of ourselves and envision our futures.
My work strives to take the vulnerable child, parent, sibling, lover, friend in all of us and showcase her full humanity - even her ugliness.
Genre transgressive
Much as our own lives dip, twist, and bend across triumphs and horrors, failures and pleasures, I seek to write across genres that pull my characters through their journeys.
My current body of work sits across drama, psychological drama, Southern Gothic/gothic horror, and dark comedy genres.
